We design with HIPAA in mind. That means giving people only the access they need, using de-identified data wherever the work allows, and building pipelines that keep a clear record of who touched what.
Where a project involves protected health information, we agree the safeguards in writing before work begins through a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) that specifies the permitted uses and disclosures of PHI, the administrative, physical, and technical safeguards we will implement, our breach notification obligations and timeline, subcontractor flow-down requirements, and the return or destruction of PHI upon engagement completion. Compliance decisions remain with your organization and your advisers; our job is to build in a way that supports them.
